1. Information We Collect
Information you provide. When you submit a booking request or contact us, we collect your name, phone number, email address, requested service, preferred date and time, meeting location/address, and any message you include.
Information collected during a notarization. California law (Government Code § 8206) requires notaries to keep a sequential journal of notarial acts. Depending on the act, the journal records the date, type of act, document type, signer name and address, signature, the type of identification presented (including ID number, issuing agency, and dates), and, for certain documents such as deeds and powers of attorney, a right thumbprint.
Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider automatically logs technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps for security and site operation. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your inquiry, quote fees, and schedule and confirm appointments.
- To perform notarial acts and loan signings and to comply with California notary laws.
- To communicate with you about your appointment, including reminders and follow-ups.
- To protect against fraud, identity theft, spam, and misuse of the Site.
- To comply with legal obligations, subpoenas, court orders, and requests from the California Secretary of State.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months.
We disclose personal information only:
- With service providers that host the Site and store booking data on our behalf, under confidentiality obligations.
- With the lender, title, escrow, or signing company that engaged us for your loan signing, as necessary to complete the transaction.
- When required by law, including journal inspection rights under Government Code § 8206 and lawful requests from courts, law enforcement, or the Secretary of State.
4. Third-Party Services
The Site loads web fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address when fonts are requested. Please refer to Google’s privacy policy for details. The Site is hosted by a third-party cloud provider that processes technical data on our behalf.
5. Data Retention
Booking request information is retained only as long as needed to provide services and maintain business records, after which it is deleted. Notary journals are retained as required by California law and, when required, delivered to the Secretary of State or county clerk; journal records cannot be deleted on request.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, restricted access to booking data, and physical security of our notary journal and seal as required by law. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (such as notary journal records).
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share).
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we use it only to perform notarial acts as required by law).
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise these rights, email or call us using the details below. We will verify your identity before fulfilling a request and respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent with written permission. Under California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code § 1798.83), we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We do not track visitors across third-party websites. Because we do not sell or share personal information, browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control are honored by default.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Site. Notarizations involving minors are handled in person in accordance with California law.
10. Text and Phone Communications
By providing your phone number, you agree that we may call or text you about your booking request and appointment. We do not send marketing texts. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text message to opt out.
